Please submit your application for any Frost Online graduate degree and/or graduate certificate through the University of Miami's online division (UOnline) portal found here: UOnline Admissions.
This depends on each class. Some require textbooks, while other courses provide supplemental readings and other learning materials.
Frost Online graduate degrees involve completing a minimum of 30 credits and meeting formal admission requirements through a detailed application process. Graduate certificates require the completion of nine graduate-level credits and have a similar formal application process. While certificate recipients benefit from focused, specialized coursework, they do not participate in the graduate commencement ceremony or receive alumni status.
Required courses are generally offered each academic year, though availability may vary. Completing a certificate program in a single semester depends on the scheduling and availability of courses during that term.
The Frost School of Music's online graduate certificates are designed as standalone credentials. However, if you fully complete an online graduate certificate and are later accepted into an online graduate degree program, courses from the certificate may count toward the degree if they align with the program’s core or elective curriculum requirements. Acceptance into any graduate degree program is not guaranteed, as all degree programs have specific admission requirements.
No, only courses designated within the certificate program may be applied toward earning the credential. Substitutions and transfer credits are not accepted.
No, Frost School of Music's online graduate certificates are 100% online programs and do not qualify for I-20 issuance or F-1 student visas. International students can however apply to an online certificate program and complete the required online courses remotely from outside the United States.
This course’s format is very similar to the Frost School of Music’s on-campus course format. Like all the courses in the program, it is a flexible and convenient way to learn that allows you to balance work and other obligations. It is also taught by one of our active and distinguished faculty members. Unlike most of our master’s level music courses, however, the MOOC is graded as pass/fail rather than on a four-point scale that is averaged with all your other coursework to calculate your GPA.
As long as you are able to log on to Kadenze, you do not need any special equipment or software to participate in the MOOC.
